The final issue of DV8 finds the Deviants fighting one another AND I/O in a battle to decide the teams future. Finally, after, 32 issues the Deviants are free of Ivana's grasp but the ending begs the question: What's next for our group of Deviants?
Did we plug this giveaway all over the site? No. And why not? 'cause we wanna make sure that this prize goes to somebody that really, really cares about DV8 and not just some fanboy who wants it for it's fair market value! And if you're @ this page, then you like DV8!
It's really pretty simple: just send us you e-mail addy before 11.15.99 to enter. That's it. We'll pick a couple of names @ random and they'll win the autographed books - easy as that!

Good question. There's no more 'DV8' as a title and Lobdell has virtually zero interest in using The Deviants as villains in Gen13, so what's next for our little group?
One word: Gen-Active.
Oh, and Evo aint dead. Trust me.

It's over fanboys and grrrls and, honestly, I couldn't help but get a little misty eyed when I turned the very last page and read the last ever DV8 letters column. As the oldest DV8 site on The Net I've been ripping and praising DV8 over it's entire run and, frankly, it'll be odd not updating this page next month. The ish was done as well as could be expected given that they were supposed to be on the run from both I/O AND Trance (the plot line that was SUPPOSED to happen if WS hadn't killed the book) but Heilser had to do a massive re-write to tie the book up. I still think the lizard possession/Bliss is mega-powerful thing is weak but, hey, if you ignore that then the book is satisfying. And props to whomever told Trevor NOT to draw Sublime transparent when she passes through things - attention to detail is always in style.
As an aside, I'd just like to say that Wildstorm NEVER gave DV8 an honest chance. They never got the respect they deserved nor the marketing dollars they needed. WS brass screwed with plots, played musical chairs with arteests and forced the book to take a subordinate roll to other, more popular, titles that never made it out on time. In essence, it failed because, WS didn't care enough about the book to help it succeed. Somebody @ WS wanted to know if I was going to write a letter for the final letters column of DV8, to which I responded, "There's no way in he|| they'd print what I'd write, so why bother". He agreed with me. He knew I'd write, pretty much, what I just wrote and there's no way in he|| that WS would admit that DV8 got the shaft and they were to blame.
Goodbye DV8, I shall truly miss you.
