International Operations Report #41R-JNC0-

Within recents months it has been established that the civilian code-named "Jen-Active" has had contact with numerous individuals at the LaJolla based Wildstorm Productions facility. It has also been established that both Wildstorm Productions and "Jen-Active" have covert agendas that undermine the sanctity and integrity of national security. As such, communications between the two entities is closely monitored. The following transmission between "JenActive" and "writer" Michael Heisler was intercepted and uploaded 08.11.98 at 02:08:44 EST.

JA: Here are two things I've been curious about for a while - Is Frostbite's hair naturally blonde and are Sublime's lips naturally blue?

MH: The first manifestation of Frostbite's power changed his hair color from its natural dark brown to blonde. He reacted to this by shaving his head, and eventually settled for the mohawk-and-dreads look. Sublime, however, wears blue lipstick. These subjects and others will be touched upon in DV8 #0, sometime in Spring 1999.

JA: BTW, I talked to Witchblade writer, D. Wohl, about what you said about the Sublime vs. Witchblade and while he conceded that Sublime could probably take out Sara, he claimed "But Sara would be drawn better!" Any comments?

MH: Sara would be drawn better? In a book presumably drawn by a single art team all the way through? Spoken like someone who isn't getting enough sleep. Or who doesn't have much experience with seeing books drawn by single art teams all the way through.

JA: He also said "But I could kick Heisler's @$$! Both of them!". So if we put Wohl and the Heisler brothers in a steel cage, who wins and why?

MH: He would have us on the ropes at first because we would keep looking for him at eye level and missing him completely. When we finally lowered our sights enough, though, we could just take turns sitting on him -- our asses would kick his ass. Dave would probably believe he's won anyway. He clearly has some delusional problems. Are there any real questions this month?

JA: Ivana's been gone for a while. Any hints as to what she's doing and when we can expect to see her back?

MH: She's been recuperating and getting rebuilt. Just as she took the opportunity to have shredder coils installed in her hands the first time around, she'll have some interesting new attachments this time as well. She'll be back before the crossover starts.

JA: Also, we got a bunch of Q's sent to us by e-mail, here a some of the more interesting ones...

Askur would like to know if you would ever consider coming to the only comic book shop in Iceland to do a signing? He'd also like to see a book focus on Copycat like those two Powerhaus issues. Any chance of that?

MH: For Askur, anything. Funny, I just read an article a couple days ago about Jerry Seinfeld's stop in Iceland that made it sound like a cool place to visit. One store, though? Maybe they should start taking up a collection. And yes, there's a solo Copycat story coming up next month in #22 that is in many ways a direct sequel to the Powerhaus story. #23 is a solo Threshold story, and #24 is a team story where most of the action centers around Sublime.

JA: And in multiple e-mails ppl wanna know, what happened to Bliss' powers? In earlier issues and Gen13 she had various psionic abilities, the ability to get men to do whatever she wanted, pain/pleasure pulse, etc. and now she seems pretty weak.

MH: John Layman mentioned this to me, too; apparently people have been e-mailing him as well. I think that people may have an exaggerated idea of Bliss's abilities. She's a low-level telepath with the ability to affect emotional states. When she can make direct contact with her subject (or victim, whichever you prefer), her effect is greatly enhanced. But that's about it. A lot of the stuff that was shown in the GEN miniseries -- like her telepathic link with Threshold, for example -- was there because Threshold put it into place, not Bliss.
