International Operations Report #T3M-0AT31- Within recents months it has been established that the civilian code-named "Jen-Active" has had contact with numerous individuals at the LaJolla based Wildstorm Productions facility. It has also been established that both Wildstorm Productions and "Jen-Active" have covert agendas that undermine the sanctity and integrity of national security. As such, communications between the two entities is closely monitored. The following transmission between "JenActive" and "writer" Michael Heisler was intercepted and uploaded 09.30.98 at 13:56:03 EST.

<--- UPLINK ESTABLISHED ---> <--- BEGIN TRANSMISSION ---> JA: Okay, I gotta ask since everybody wants to know: What are your feelings about the rumored DC/WS merger? And how exactally would it benefit WS MH: I'll be happy to discuss this when it actually happens. JA: That's kinda what I thought. Okay, with Rio now doing Purgatori for Chaos, is there any chance that it would affect DV8? Is he fast enough to do two book without it affecting quality? MH: Al is a fast artist. I'm about two months ahead of him on DV8, which means that he always has material to work on. If the Chaos people are equally ahead on plots, then he should have no problem. He's been hitting all of his dates just fine so far. As for the quality, you folks are the ultimate judges. JA: True. Okay, last time you said Rachel wears blue lipstick. So I wanna know if Sublime's wearing blue lipstick, what brand is it and where can I can some? She fights and fights and fights and it never...EVER comes off! MH:This is comics. Next question. JA: The reason I ask is, I occassionaly wear blue lipstick and, lemme tell you, the stuff just don't work. You never get a true shade of blue and it wears off REALLY fast. Which brings me to the point of you saying last month that Sublime wears blues lipstick. See, she ALWAYS has it on - which made me believe that her lips were actually blue. After a fight - blue lips. After swimming through the ocean - blue lips. After getting smashed on a night on the town - blue lips. If it's lipstick, the damn stuff should come off, I guess that's my point. She has never...EVER been seen without it. She must wake up and put it on first thing in the morning and re-apply it 24 times a day off-camera ; ) Yeah, yeah, I know...it's comics but still... MH: Want the "real" reason? It's because, as revealed in DV8 #24, her shift-phase effect extends about an eighth of an inch or so around her body. Her lipstick remains perfect for the same reason that her costume remains perfect. JA: Phase Shift? Guess I'l have to wait for #24 to come out. And speaking of upcoming books, how's the project (Disavowed) coming with Choi? Do you have a penciller yet and/or a tenative release date? MH: No penciller yet -- although we have the first issue written, this book has been kind of put on the back burner while Brandon, who's co-writing two other books and developing numerous others, works out some kinks in his schedule. Tentative release date is mid-spring. JA: 'kay we'll look for that. Next question, what were you impressions of the SDCC this year? Did WS make a good showing? MH: To be honest, apart from the time I spent in the booth signing, I didn't pay much attention to goings-on at the Con. This year's was the seventh consecutive one for me -- the novelty wears off after a while. JA: My dealer said that the WS booth wasn't as good as previous years, that's kinda why I asked. And this installments final question: Can you give us a little more detail about the DV8 Annual/Gen13 crossover now that it's closer? Jason Johnson is doing the pencils, correct? MH: Right, Jason is pencilling, and Edwin Rosell is inking the GEN13 ANNUAL. I'm not sure yet who's inking the DV8 ANNUAL. The story has its origins in a DV8 plotline, though everything you need to know will be fully explained (or intentionally left unexplained, to be more precise) within the Annuals themselves. I will say that John Arcudi seems to be having a lot more fun than I am so far. But I get to write the conclusion -- wait till he sees how many of his cast I kill off... JA: Kewl! Kill off Lynch and Burnout for me, k? They're a waste of perectly good paper and ink. <--- TRANSMISSION TERMINATED---> <--- UPLINK DISABLED --->
