International Operations Report #DD-BU544- Within recents months it has been established that the civilian code-named "Jen-Active" has had contact with numerous individuals at the LaJolla based Wildstorm Productions facility. It has also been established that both Wildstorm Productions and "Jen-Active" have covert agendas that undermine the sanctity and integrity of national security. As such, communications between the two entities is closely monitored. The following transmission between "JenActive" and "writer" Michael Heisler was intercepted and uploaded 04.26.99 at 11:20:01 EST.

<--- UPLINK ESTABLISHED ---> <--- BEGIN TRANSMISSION ---> JA: So is there any change in the status of DV8, or is it still going to be ended after issue #32?
MH: A disclaimer first: I didn't create DV8, and I don't own it. Anything that I might
say here could someday be declared null and void by the people who DO own it. So
I'm going to be prefacing some of my answers with "as far as I'm concerned..."
In answer to your first question: as far as I'm concerned, it's ended. I'm in the
middle of writing #32 right now, and it's the last issue I'll write. MH: As far as I'm concerned, no. I have never had a reason to believe that either Wildstorm or DC have wavered in their decision. JA: Any more one-shots like Gen13 Wired on the horizon for you? Oh, and is there anybody else in comics that does tech better than Bennett? MH: As far as I'm concerned...oh, wait, I can answer this. No more GEN13 one-shots for me, ever. No interest. And no, no one draws tech better than Richard. In fact, Richard draws nearly everything better than most people. JA: A kind of related question: When your run on DV8 is ended, what's next for you? MH: I'll be working on DISAVOWED with Brandon Choi, and some fine day, I'll be submitting a proposal for a STAR TREK miniseries to Jeff Mariotte. That's the total of my Wildstorm-related work for the foreseeable future. I have a few other things going on, but it's too soon to talk about any of them. JA: How long before Frosty gets his powers back and, without him, does that mean that Sublime will now be the offical team leader? MH: I don't want to give away too much, but I can tell you that there will be no official team leader. JA: Oh, and I don't think I asked this specifically, but alternate universe/time travelling stuff can be tricky. Since Rachel's dad was Cray in the warped universe, does that mean that he really is her father (I'm sure the answer is yes, I'm just making sure) MH: As far as I'm concerned, yes. But she doesn't know it, and neither did he. JA: Any clues as to what Ivana's up to in the next few issues? Any ideas what she'll be up to after DV8? MH: Ivana is becoming increasingly paranoid, convinced that everyone is against her. It just so happens that everyone IS against her. How she reacts is an important aspect of the final 3-parter. JA: If that nasty thing in Bliss has been around since Cabalito, does that mean that it's been controlling Nicole ever since then? It decided to go to Italy, seduce her brother, etc... MH: The scene in #26 actually occurs AFTER her return from Italy. In the Italian adventure, she was the old playful and flirting Bliss that we knew from GEN13. Sometime after, she became the Bliss that sexually tortured and killed strange men, and then tried to seduce her brother. There's going to be a revelation about Bliss in #31 that will explain a lot of things to a lot of people. <--- TRANSMISSION TERMINATED---> <--- UPLINK DISABLED --->
